In a World With No Shame?

I sought the LORD, and he answered me;
he delivered me from all my fears.
Those who look to him are radiant;
their faces are never covered with shame.

Psalm 34:4-5 (NIV)

  1. I remember you wrote about good shame and bad shame in one of your previous posts. What do you think David means by his statement about shame here? Funny--that line in The Message is: Look at him [God]; give him your warmest smile. Never hide your feelings from him. Would you want to live in a world without shame? :) Lynne

  2. Lynne,

    Part of the reason I posted it is because it intrigued me. I recently felt a large amount of shame when I was talking through some things with a few friends and so I was looking for verses on shame and came across this.

    I wonder if you feel shame when you are aware of your nakedness, when your eyes are on yourself. It is hard to believe the shame might be gone if our eyes on on him, that He covers our nakedness.
